About
The mission of the Methuen Arlington Neighborhood is to engage and serve children and families in need with compassion, respect and dignity by building on individual and community strengths to help resolve life challenges together.
We provide a safe haven with a "kids come first" approach. We strive to achieve positive, lasting results, working to enhance neighborhood investment, revitalization activities and strive for self-sufficiency of families in need.
Our main focus areas include public safety, youth programs, and social services.
The Methuen Arlington Neighborhood is a densely populated, low to moderate income area located adjacent to the City of Lawrence’s Arlington Neighborhood. Sharing the same problems as the Lawrence Arlington Neighborhood - poverty, lack of employment opportunities, and social skills – we are able to receive CDBG funding through the City of Methuen, Cummings Foundation, ECCF Summer in Greater Lawrence Fund, Department of Conservation and Recreation, Methuen Cultural Council, State of Massachusetts State Earmark and other grants.
To begin formally working on improving the quality of life in the area, neighborhood residents formed a 501(c)(3) non-profit in March of 1995. M.A.N. Inc's prime target area for the purpose of representation and service is within the Town of Methuen, primarily within the borders of the Spicket River, Horne Street, Lawrence Street, and the Lawrence City Line of Center Street, all located in Census Tract 2524, Blocks 2 and 3.
At Methuen Arlington Neighborhood, Inc., we believe in the potential of every child and the strength of every family. We believe that, with the right support and resources, every child and family can thrive, and together, we can create a better world for all.
